Is WiFi Signal Safe ?

Regarding the impact of WiFi exposure on human health, there are differing views. According to some sources, radio-frequency waves from wireless networks are too low to harm human systems, despite some studies showing WiFi has negative health impacts. In this article, we will explore how the WiFi signal relate to some health condition.

WiFi Radiation

To link you to the internet, your wireless WiFi router employs RF (Radio Frequency) energy. All routers generate high frequency radio waves or non-ionizing radiation, regardless of whether you have the newest 5G router, a powerful WiFi router, or our favorite Eco- Low Power router.

This type of electro-magnetic field, or EMF, is exactly the same as the “information carrying radio wave” produced by cell phones, smart meters, laptops, baby monitors, tablets, and computers.

How Harmful is the WiFi Radiation ?

Does WiFi cause cancer?

There isn’t a conclusive response to this question as of yet. That’s because there isn’t any conclusive proof that WiFi or EMFs in general cause cancer.
EMFs are “probably carcinogenic to humans,” according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), which is part of the World Health Organization. 30 scientists reviewed data on the relationship between EMFs and cancer in order to create the label.
Studies on EMFs and cancer have shown inconsistent results. For instance, a 2017 assessment of the literature found that EMFs from wireless devices raise the risk of glioma, a particular type of brain tumor. However, a 2018 study found no conclusive link between EMFs and brain malignancies.

Is WiFi Dangerous for the Reproductive System ?

The radio-frequency electromagnetic radiation released by WiFi devices has been shown in certain studies to have an impact on sperm count, motility, and DNA integrity in both humans and animals.

Degenerative damage, reduced testosterone levels, higher cell death, and DNA damage are additional alterations in the male reproductive system that are mostly brought on by elevated testicular temperature and oxidative stress levels.

Regarding female reproductive alterations, it has been demonstrated that WiFi exposure decreases the generation and release of estrogen and progesterone, which results in decreased reproductive effectiveness and diminished fertility. Chromosomal alterations, one of the reasons of spontaneous abortion, can also be brought on by WiFi.

WiFi Effect on the Brain Activity

Studies on the impact of WiFi on animal brain activity have shown that exposure to stress and the development of anxiety-like behavior can both be considered as potential results of WiFi radiation; however, memory and spatial learning abilities are unaffected.

Enhanced oxidative stress in the cerebral cortex and increased acetylcholinesterase activity are two examples of the biochemical alterations seen in animal brains.

Due to decreased melatonin release and increased norepinephrine secretion at night, excessive WiFi use has been linked to disruptions in learning and memory, sleep deprivation, and weariness.

However, these alterations are also related to the use of any screen time. Electroencephalography (EEG) recordings of brain activity have produced conflicting results with WiFi use, with some studies reporting no change or neuropsychiatric alterations.

It’s interesting to note that a recent study found that sustained WiFi radiation exposure can enhance the cognitive abilities of rats with cognitive impairments resembling Alzheimer’s disease.

It has been discovered that the radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation released by mobile and cordless phones does not result in any behavioral or emotional issues in young children.

Conclusion

According to the research presented in this article, there is no definit link between WiFi exposure and health concerns. However, we recommend attempting to reduce consumption and, at the very least, turning off routers during sleep time.
